WHOA we're 1/2 way there, WHHOOAAA living on a prayer! (literally) ;)

Oh my goodness....family and friends....3 weeks down...19 days to go...not sure if I'm ready, but i'll tell you what..the days here feel like years, and the weeks here feel like hours....if that makes any sense. Haha basically time is Flying, and it's nuts! On our 1/2 mark we celebrated by going to get some yummy byu Ice cream at the venting missions and guys if you have never tried Gram Canyon...idk if that's even how you spell it but....go to the store right now and buy some...wow it will change your life I promise!
Well hello everyone:) Hope you are all doing well and getting ready for Halloween! ☺ I love halloween and always decorating our porch and playing fun music for the trick-or-treaters, so family....keep up the tradition🤗
Well this week has been great! My favorite week so far here at the MTC. As for Italian, I am speaking a lot more, and our lessons are more than just "god Loves you" "Will you pray"....haha I can actually share more personal experiences and explain things a little better, so yes I probably still sound like a caveman (my vocab is still out of control) lol but it's definitely getting better. We learned direct/indirect objects this week....and a WOW!!! Mind blown!! haha like I don't even know this stuff in english...let alone in Italian!  it's great though, and I love the challenge of speaking a different language. God knows exactly what we need, Patience is something I really need to improve on, so yes all in all I'm learning Patience and many other things that comes with learning a language in 6 weeks. :)
So pretty much the more words I learn In italian the more I realize english makes absolutely NO SENSE!!! Haha the things we say in english like "take a shower" in Italian you would litterally take a shower pick it up and walk out however that works...haha so it's always a good laugh. 😂 But also things in Italian make no sense in English like the way the sentence structure is set up..."I it eat".... ya confusing right?? So pretty much the Anziani in our district made a saying "that's the way the Italian's say it."
Well guys let me tell ya being here in the MTC is extremely exhausting and so good! Tuesday mornings we have service at 6:25...we have 16 hour days in little classrooms learning SO MUCH info, and it's great! Honestly i'm not just saying that...but the stuff we learn here is amazing, and I can tell all of you it's amazing to watch the change take place not only in me, but everyone around me. When you truly come to understand Christ and his Atonement, It changes the way you look at people, the way you think about life, the way you live your life, the way you treat others....it changes everything! I still don't understand his atonement completely, but I can tell you that every time we talk about it, My testimony and love for our savior grows a little stronger. This week I want to challenge all of you to ask yourselves, "what think ye of Christ?" D&C 6:36, and if you don't know Christ, take this challenge and get to know him. I promise all of you as you do, he will lift your burdens, and strengthen you in every aspect of your life. Trust me....I have experienced this so much here in the MTC..I say this every week, but really I couldn't do it without him. That's my challenge this week, get to know your savior, and if even the most simple prayer can make the biggest difference. Faith requires Action, remember that.
Okay i'm done preaching but, A few things that happened this week That are fun:) SO first of all...byu lost by 1 I heard?? Dang that's too bad....The anziani in my district were all talking about it, and all at once said I think we know why byu isn't winning "we need to fast." hahahah If you've seen best 2 years you'd understand, and for maybe 10 minutes we were all laughing, and again....our sense of humor here is completely shot. Haha even though I live like 5 min from the stadium I never hear about BYU ... so thanks for the dear elders. Also Guys tell me about the election?? I would love to hear how all that craziness is going...I guess we can vote here, so that's pretty cool. Anyways funny story, you know how last week I talked about hitting my head on that bar every morning??? well....I was on a record, three nights in a row nothing and then....Tuesday morning (service day) I wake up SO tired and wack! haha i actually cut the side of my head a little....so yes that happened, and yes I guess I still haven't learned my lesson. Also our district sings christmas hymms now, and I LOVE IT!!  it's the best even though we sound like crap, and try to read the Italian Lyrics, the spirit of Christmas is the best, and brightens our spirits everytime we sing joy to the world, the lord has come. <3
Also the anziani always take our trays, it's very kind, and yes we still sing happy bday to Anziano Harrison! 😂🙌 I also got to be a host yesterday..It was the greatest, and the girls I got were so sweet!! Kinda made me a little teary thinking of the day I said bye to my family. <3 One of the girls dads brings out this crockpot...like dead serious wanted her to take it with her!! I was dying😂 Haha no one in their right mind would want to carry a crockpot with them on their mission, so  when I explained that to her, she left it in the car. hahahah
The devotional tuesday was great, and we learned how we need to listen before speaking, always stay humble, and love everyone. Learning to love others as christ does is the pure love of christ, it's charity. So this week, I also challenge all of you to see what there is that you can do to help someone else. Don't be quick to judge, and be a friend to everyone. We also learned how important it is not to just "know the gospel" but LIVE IT. Those 2 things are completely different, and you can know all the docterine want, but it's the application that matters. After the devotional, we went back to our classrooms and discussed what we learned...wow our whole district was crying, and it's amazing how much the gospel can change hearts. Some of the testimonies shared were powerful, and true. Guys I love this gospel, I love being a missionary, and I love the people In italy I don't even know yet that I will teach. This week, look for something you can do to help others. I promise as you do, You will feel the happiness that comes from serving others. :) I love you all! WEEK 2!!!

Hellooo and Ciao Everyone!!
Ciao Is such a nice word....one of the ones I really know how to say at this point..lol. 😁
Wow guys what a week....So much to say and so little time, but let's start with monday. I went to the consulate with 25 other Italy Missionaries at 6 in the morning...Yes sleep doesn't exsist here, but somehow I manage to wake up everyday. We went up town for our visa's, and it WAS SO NICE to be in the real world again...To meet and talk to people, and to just be out in the city. I forgot to say last week, but There are 45 missionaries in our zone...CRAZY RIGHT? Lots of missionaries going to Italy, (1/2 to Rome, 1/2 to Milan.) A cool story about an elder in my District...Anziano Jackson. As all of us are struggling with the language, he was too but really showed it while we started language study, you could just tell how overwhelmed he got. So me and my 2 Sorelle decided to include him in our prayers everyday. Well guess what....Out of all the elders in our district, he got called zone leader, and that Just goes to show you god Is SO AWARE of each of us, and knows exactly what we need. That's just one small example, but everyday if it's anything from understanding 5 more words, or learning something new, God blesses us with so much, and sometimes we just overlook the small things that really mean SO MUCH.

So a few funny things that happened, well...first, In one of our lessons, I realized that I was telling our investigator that god Is the pope instead of our father...haha I mean moments like that really make you laugh and reminds me i have A LOOONNNGGG WAYS to go. Also in another lesson, Our investigator was saying all this stuff about how she doesn't believe in god, and then right after I ask, So do you believe in god? SHe gives me this really confused look, I just smile cause I have no Idea what is going on, and my comps are laughing, and me secretly crying inside..haha The language barrier is so hard, but I know Overtime It will come. :) Also we always sing happy birthday to Anziano Harrison at lunch and he gets so mad!! Haha it's the daily routine, and the whole cafeteria joins in...it's seriously HILARIOUS! 😁👍 Also Anziano baker is from texas and Sorella Hoareau (From France) tries to speak in his accent with her french accent and I cry Every time! Never heard anything like it in my entire life....seriously too good too good! 😂 ANNDDD...Every morning, no joke I wack my head on the stinkin bars above my bunk. It's the worst and I don't know how I haven't developed a goose-ache yet (Not how you spell it) But I do it every morning, and you'd think by now I would have learned my lesson....well let's hope by next week I'll have it figured out. ;) lol Choir on sunday was great! I love singing in it, and our choir director was gone, so we had a sub, and Seriously about died laughing! Cute little fella, and wow he KNEW HOW TO LEAD MUSIC!! A few times I thought he was going to fall off his stand from loosing his balance...lol he got really into it!
Tuesday we had a devotional and It was given by Vai Sikahema...he has played for BYU then was drafted to the Cardinals, and then on to the Packers! He was so inspiring and talked about how we can use our influence for good, that Through example, not words but example, we can impact so many lives. Sunday was the best, and WOW IT's FALLLLLL!! I love the colors, but hate the cold. Please snow don't come until after I leave....I am not ready for the winter part, but This time of year is always so beautiful. We watched the restoration video That night, and I have to say...I thought I was an emotional person, but then I became a missionary. The spirit was so strong and man Joseph Smith Was truly a prophet of god. I mean How could This 14 year old boy who Didn't have hardly any education translate the Book of Mormon in 85 days....Because he had god working on his side, and that right there is a testimony to me that Joseph was Truly called of god.
Also this week I have had a really hard time sleeping, and This week has been a little harder than last week. I do miss everyone a lot, and sometimes I feel So inadequate like I don't know enough, like I will never get the language, and lots of other things...but I have truly realized that without Christ I couldn't do this, and that's why I am here. Not only to help others come unto Christ, but to help myself come unto Christ too. The Anziani in my district gave me a blessing, and I felt so much better after. I am so grateful for the power of the Priesthood.
Last night Me and Sorella Weeks taught a lesson all by ourselves...Sorella Hoareau wasn't there to help us....she litterally is a life savor cause she knows the language so well! We were so nervous, but wow guys, I have never come out of a lesson so uplifted! I was sharing the first vision, and Just paused and started crying as I looked in our Investigators eyes and bore my very simple but strong testimony that I knew It was true. She started crying, and the spirit was so strong...the holy ghost is the true teacher, and last night I witnessed that. It was awesome, so on a positive note, I can now say the first vision, and a few scriptures in Italian...SO it's coming;) We taught a family yesterday too from Italy that are converts, and I JUST CAN'T WAIT TO GET TO ITALY!! I didn't even know these people and Had such a strong love for them. THey were so kind, so loving, and had the strongest testimonies ever! They spoke so fast, and yup.....AGain i have a long ways to go but it's Va Bene;) I got asked to teach relief society on sunday, so that will be fun;) Lots of teaching opportunities here and it's great! Also times when It's hard, I see missionaries here (a few of them) who are unable to walk well, scooting their feet across the floor, and realizing that these elders and sisters are here because they love the lord and want to serve him despite their inability to walk. Their examples strengthen me everyday! WE CAN ALL DO HARD THINGS!! ANyways guys I love you guys so much and thank you so much for all the emails, and prayers. I truly feel so grateful, and love being a missionary!

I have met so many friends here, people who will be my friends forever, and although there are days I feel like I just can't do it, I remember Christ never gives up on us, so Why would I ever give up on him?  Never forget that guys....he would never give up on us, so always remember there are 2cd, 3rd, 10, 55 chances...he always is there with his arms reached out.
quote of the week: "I can do all things through Christ which Strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:13 Have a great week everyone!!!

Week One!

Ciao Ciao everyone!!! Wow It's already been a week, and so much has happened...So I guess i will start with the first day:) Well they start you right out in Language class....So Italian was started day 1, and day 2 we taught our first investigator Guliana. It was terrifying...and I tried so hard to speak, but Man it was just a fail....haha I don't think anything I said made sense so i just smiled and acted like I knew what was going on. 😊 Italian is such a pretty language...but definitely not when I speak it.....I sound like inspector Clouseau on pink panther trying to say I would like to buy a hamburger...haha my accent is out of control, but I'm working on it. :) I can now say a small prayer, bare a short testimony, and say our purpose all in Italian, so it's coming slowly, but everyday I see little improvements, and I'm so grateful the lord is there to help me every step of the way. Without him, I couldn't do this. He has been my strength this past week, along with the scriptures. They give me so much peace every time I study them. The mtc has been hard for me mostly because of the language, and really trying to learn so much in so little time, but the spirit here is so so strong, and I know I couldn't be in a better place than here right now. Every morning when my Sorelle wake up, we always say, I love Italy, Italy loves me, Italian is my friend:) That way we start out with happy spirits and know we can conquer our studies for the day!
I'm in  a trio...yup 2 comps and It's awesome! We each are a strength to each other! Sorella Hoareou is from France and knows so much Italian so it's ze best:) She helps me so much with pronounciation and memorizing...and Sorella Weeks is from Idaho, and knows our mission president so that's pretty cool. :) It's just us 3 in a small room...and surprisingly all being girls...it stays pretty clean..lol except yes I do have the biggest suitcases...I just couldn't fit all my crap in 2 small ones, so my comps give me a hard time about it. 😅
Sorella Hoareau sleep talks in French and It is probably the funniest thing I've ever heard! She never remembers doing it which makes it even better, but It seriously is the nightly routine, and always makes me laugh..which reminds me, my sense of humor is shot. Everything is so funny even when it isn't and I think it's because we are all so tired and just fighting to stay awake. So we laugh at pretty much anything. 😅
also Sorella Hoareau is our personal trainer, and leads us in workouts every exercise time. I now know how to count to 20 in french! 👍
I love my district, and it's just my trio and 3 Anziani companionships. We are so close, and they really have become my little familia away from home. Anziano baker's mom sent a HUGE package of candy so we were pretty pumped! As a district we went to the temple just barely, and it was so peaceful and amazing. I love the temple so much! Also as a district, we help each other set goals with the language, and it's so helpful when you know you have to be accountable to all of them, so you really make sure to study, and it encourages you a lot more. Sorella weeks got sick like the third day, so no fun, but we are praying she gets better soon. Just making sure I am taking all my vitamins and trying to stay healthy. :) Also I don't know why I think it's so funny, but Anytime I say Anziano...every elder looks, and we always laugh...I'm tellin you guys, things that just shouldn't be funny are.😅
Sunday was so so good. We got to go on a temple walk, and we got to go watch characters of Christ later that night which was a talk given by Elder Bednar a couple years back on christmas day at the MTC. Even though serving a mission is hard...probably the hardest thing I've done in my life up to this point, listening to his talk reminded me that It's not about us, it's all about Christ. We have to serve with all our heart, might, mind, and strength, stay obedient, and he will make up the rest. It was such a great talk, and really helped me feel god's love for all of us so strongly. Also, tuesday's are so good cause we get to sing in the choir for devotional, and also have an awesome speaker talk to us! Elder Bednar came, and his talk was amazing (as usual). He talked about how we can better study general conference, and make more use of our personal study. We sang in the Choir, "Precious Savior, dear redeemer" and the spirit was so so strong! I love the spirit of music, especially in a choir full of hundreds of missioinaries...powerful stuff! They broadcasted it to all the MTC'S in the world, so maybe I was on TV...Idk, but it was awesome. :)
Random MTC facts:
-Beds feel like cardboard, but they are the most comfy things now after long days, sleeping is all you look forward to.
-I need more sleep
-I've learned more Italian in 1 week, than spanish in 2 years...my brain is going to explode but it's good! I love learning:)
-The language is hard, but then I meet a missionary going to Japan, and remind myself how lucky I am that I don't have to learn an Asian language....YIKES!! 😅
-I love my Teacher Sorella Bucco...She has the best stories and encourages us everyday to be better.
-I feel like I'm back In high school....lots of kids here from lone peak. 😁
-Brother Egget, the choir director was my institute teacher, so it was fun talking to him.
-And lastly, I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY! It's the hardest thing i've ever done, but the most humbling, and spiritual experience I've ever had too. I love this gospel. It is seriously the way to true happiness.
I love you all, and thank you for all the dear elders, and emails. It means the world<3
Have such a great week everyone!!
Love, Sorella Rindlisbacher

The part "I need more sleep" made me laugh. If you know Nick, you know she's all about sleeping in & taking long naps err day. Haha

"Headed to the mtc"
Nick repacked her bags probably 10 times. That morning she was repacking again trying to get rid of stuff and then when we were leaving and going to put her bags in the car she opened them up again to take even more stuff out haha!

A little bit of the email she sent to us sisters!

Hi sisters, i don't have tons of time, but I sent home a letter today in the mail, and it should come soon with some  letters in it for each of you, so make sure mom and dad give them to you. Wow it has been a week FULL of many emotions. I didn't know a mission would be so hard...it seriously has been the most humbling, hard thing i've ever had to do. I miss you both a lot, and arthur, mads, and bray, but it is the best opening up my email and seeing pictures and updates. :) I love it!! I am going to send my main email later, but I just wanted to email you two and tell you both thank you so much for all the love and support...(dear elders) seriously are helping me get through the hard days. I love it here, but it's hard and a very big adjustment, but I know I can do it:) I've only cried myself to sleep twice...haha I'm sure there will be many more times, but It will be okay! God's on my side, and with him anything is possible. Love you sissys, and hope you have a great week! Love sorella rindlisbacher
