We are his hands

Wow another week already.....my question is where did April go, and
the other 6 months I've been here....awe mission time is crazy!
Well Hello everyone:)
How is life? How is spring, and finals for all you in school? C'è la
fai!!! You can do it:)
We had zone conference last Thursday and wow talk about change....our
mission is doing a new thing called "find your own basketball court"
and President Allen wants us to use our talents more to find more
people to teach...so we have sports night, but we can also do art
classes, cooking classes, dancing, exercise....even rock
climbing....or perhaps have a chalk fight with a everyone and invite
tons of people.....so really any talent you have that could be put
into good use, or a big activity well planned out...he wants us to do
it. I'm not gonna lie, at first we were all pretty shocked...I mean I
think of missionary work as knocking on doors, talking to people in
the streets and asking members for referrals, but times are changing,
and I know President Allen is an inspired man. Our mission is already
seeing much success from this change, and it's such an amazing time as
more people are joining the gospel here in beautiful Italy while the
temple is on its way to be finished. God's work is moving forward!

This week I learned a very valuable lesson about god's timing and plan
for each of us specifically...let's start with Friday. We are heading
to English class and on the way to the bus stop, we run into a member,
"hi fratello Caruso." He gave us a ride to the bus stop which bus 44
was right at the light when we pull up and this bus will take us right
to the church....but this is the most unreliable bus y'all, and it
just happened to be there when he dropped us off. We catch it and
guess who was on it...Adda!! We walked with her to English class and
only Ilaria showed up, so just being all girls, we shared the video
daughters of god with them at the end, and the spirit was so strong.
As children of God we have more potential than we realize....It's up
to us to find that potential and make the most of our lives. "To share
truth in difficult circumstances is to treasure it more. When you push
against the boundaries of experience into the twilight of the unknown,
the Lord will strengthen you. The beauty of your eternal soul will
begin to unfold. With all my capacity I encourage you to discover who
you really are. … I urge you to discern through the Spirit your
divinely given capacities.." -Richard G. Scott

The next day again on the bus we get on, and who do we see....josh!
(The boy we met 2 weeks ago who came up to us and asked for an English
class flyer.) he had his friend with him (Carlos who is from Dominican
Republic and barely spoke any Italian...so my comp was able to speak
some Spanish with him.) we invited them both to sports night that
night, and they came!! Super awesome:)

And then Monday...well again on the bus😅 it pulls up and who's on
it...ALLESANDRO!!! We got talking to him and asked him where we could
buy Thailandaese rice to make mango rice...and he occumpanies us to
the store. While we are checking out, the cute lady was SO EXCITED to
see us...just kept smiling and asking us so many questions. (That
never happens....especially in Italy...they all think we are Jehovahs
witnesses and they don't really like them.) so we ran home, made
cookies, and brought them back to her along with a pamphlet. On the
way home, we are walking through the park, and Julio is sitting on a
bench...(a guy we met on a couple weeks ago) so we walk over, and
we're able to give him a Book of Mormon, his friend a resto pamphlet,
and invited them both to church.

So if I learned anything this week it's that god puts us in places at
certain times for a reason. Because he is not here on the earth, he
needs us to be his hands. As we are sensitive to the spirits
promptings, we are able to help and serve those around us, to be god's
hands for him in serving his children.
"If we will pray and ask Heavenly Father who we can help and promise
to act on the promptings He gives us letting us know how we can help,
He will answer our prayers and we will become instruments in His hands
to do His work. Acting in love upon the promptings given by the Spirit
becomes the catalyst. The work of naturally and normally sharing the
gospel with those we care about and love will be the work and joy of
our lives." -Elder David F. Evans

I just want to end by inviting you all this week to pray for an
opportunity to help someone in need, and pray for an opportunity to
share the gospel with someone who will be put in your path....I
promise if you do so with real intent, the lord will in turn fulfill
your desires, and he will place someone in your path. Being a
missionary is hands down the hardest thing I've ever done....I would
have given up longggg ago, but because I know this gospel is true, I
will never give up because i know how important this message is, and
it's my duty to share it will all in Italy. I'm grateful for the
examples of the pioneers, of Jospeh Smith who sacrificed
everything...even their lives for the gospel because it is that
important, because salvation is of eternal importance. So when it gets
hard, I remind myself the stories of my ancestors and say, "I'm doing
it for them too...." "I am convinced that missionary work is not easy
because salvation is not a cheap experience. Salvation never was
easy." -Elder Holland.
Vi voglio bene❤ con amore,
Sorella Rindlisbacher
Quote of the week: "Mission....Heavenly Father has a mission and plan
for each of us, but he also has his own timetable." -Bonnie L.

Grazia <3 Stubborn woman who will never come to church, but I love her :)

For English class we were teaching parts of the body. I laid on the board and Meager outlined me... now do I have some curbs or what hahahahaha

Torino Zone

When the rest of the zone is late, we gotta hop the fence

Writing people goodbye notes... so much Italian I think my brain is fried translating back and forth haha

This is Jessica... and it may not look like it, but secretly I wanna curl up and cry. I started panicking when she was slithering around my neck. When she lifted up the rock to take it out of its cage it had laid about 10 eggs, so she was pretty feisty when she got her out. Ahh.

rednecks and italians DO NOT MIX!!!!

Buongiorno tutti<3Come state??
Okay well first thing is first...what is this weather??? Still wondering why I decided to shave my legs because it would be better with tights anyways right now! Haha anyways you gotta love spring:D I hope you all had a great Easter weekend full of lots of yummy food, Easter egg hunts, and the most important thing, thoughts centered around the most important part of easter, our savior Jesus Christ. :) Easter on the mission is very special, especially being here in Italy where mostly everyone is catholic, and when it comes down to the conclusion, We all have in common the belief that Christ is the savior of the World, our older brother, and redeemer. I'm so grateful for this knowledge guys, and the peace I feel knowing no matter the difficult days in life, or trails where you don't see a light at the end of the tunnel..you don't need to carry the load by yourself, because someone who loved you so much already did that to make your burdens a little lighter. I can't even comprehend it, but that takes A WHOLE LOT of love to do what Christ did for us...a lot of love!

So Easter Sunday...well after church we stayed and ate WAY TO MUCH FOOD with some of the families in our ward:D Ha 5 courses later, I Think it's safe to say we all had triplet food babies going on. I also played the piano for a little, and Allesandro came and sang along his "James the Mormon" Songs....haha THIS GUY KILLS ME!! He has quite the vibrato, (more like my ears might bleed) and is obsessed with James the Mormon, so he is convinced to write him music to sing, and I guess I'm on the errand to make that happen according to Allesandro...I can't crush his dreams, so I just smile and say ya that's pretty cool...I mean I don't know what's worse, but that man is hilarious! He asked to sing at our weddings... (I think I'll pass on that one) :D haha but anyways I had a good heart to heart with Fratello Caruso who use to be A mission President in Sicily many years ago. We talked about the mission, learning a new language, and how God gives us what we need for our own personal growth...Lots of things I needed to hear that really helped me...even some answers to questions I had, so basically These members here are the best, and I love them so much!

Sports night was the BEST!!! We had 12 people show up, and played some volley, basketball, and RUGBY which Me and Meager are getting pretty good at this passing backwards thing...;)

Okay now the part referring to my subject line....GUYS REDNECKS AND ITALIANS SHOULD NOT BE A THING BUT IT IS!!! Oh my heavens it was the most entertaining, weird experience y'all....okay first off Asunta  (one of Grazia's friends) that we met last week invites us to come to Pasquetta lunch with her and some of her friends monday, (its an italian holiday they celebrate the day after Easter) so we are waiting for her to pick us up, and here she comes screaming down the road in this tiny broken fiat that looks like it's about to fall apart...we knew at that moment this was about to be an interesting afternoon. She jumps out, Baci's us, and next thing we know...we are headed up on a very tiny, bumpy road in the middle of the Mtns...we pull into this grass field with an abandon trailer house on one side, and on the other.......................what do we see......
A table with
9
Italian
rednecks.
Oh heaven help us all!
But what can I say....2 country girls at heart...this was our element:) Oh how I've missed camping out...all they needed was horses and it would be just like home;) me and Meager just high five each other and say alright...let's go see what this is all about:D These people wear legit so funny! We ate probably the worst barbecue I've had, then They start pulling out these huge wine bottles....like 3 times than normal size ones, and getting drunk out of their minds! At one point, Asunta is trying to pour her wine, and instead pours it all over the table...another lady knocks her drink over, this old man is just standing there hysterically laughing at himself...all the meanwhile me and Meager are sitting on these wooden baskets that are practically broken. After each going through and saying something we are grateful for which is our dinner tradition that sorella meager starts at every meal appointment...it got 1/2 way around the circle, and they start arguing about what they are grateful for, and then who is older in the group, so I stand up and Yell out, "Alright we are going in a circle and saying our age." (This will settle things) Not funny....but they all laughed AND LOVED IT!! Literally these people were a tipsy group of hooligans..haha and we finished the lunch off with a toast (our water, and their wine) to god for all the blessings we have. :D so anyways a day I'll never forget, but we did get 2 new english class people from the group, so pretty cool:)

Yesterday after spending the afternoon with Grazia, (a less active) and listening to her life story which was emotionally draining...really sad hearing all she has been through,  we had a lesson with Silvana about prayer and Sorella Miele came which turned into a disaster.....WHOA THE SPIRIT WAS NOT THERE and Sorella Miele just argued with Silvana about the Catholic Church which crap....they were such good friends, and then Silvana's husband came out and My heart just sunk...this wasn't going anywhere good. Everyone was heated, and getting out of hand...hands flinging in the air, yelling at each other.....I wanted to cry, I look at Sorella Meager, and yup she was feeling it too while these 3 went at it...finally my awesome comp says OK guys the more important thing here that we were talking about earlier is prayer, that We can pray to our father in heaven and he is always waiting and ready to listen. They quieted down, I added some thoughts and my testimony, and we ended with a prayer...so ya emotionally draining night to say the least. Me and Meager left that lesson pretty broken..but the lord's work moves forward. When teaching others about the gospel, missionary or not missionary, our job is only to invite, and always the person whom we are teaching has their agency to either accept or not accept it..that is how we each learn and grow, choosing for ourselves. Sorella Meager read me a really good quote after getting home which reads, "Remember how the savior handled tough questions....He remained clam, he showed respect, and he taught truth but he never forced anyone to live the way he taught." -Ronald A. Rasband.

AMEN!!!!

Well guys that's about it for the week! Thanks for all the emails and prayers<3 Vi voglio molte bene!!
Love Sorella Rindlisbacher
Quote of the week: "what lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."

The anziani bought us cute Easter baskets and gave them to us tonight. Harris (the tall one) painted those pictures for us!

Rugby, saving birds, and THE WORST JAM EVER!!!!

Hello my dear family and friends❤
How's spring treating everyone??? Me and Sorella Meager have received some nice sunburns and farmers tan lines this week...so I can only imagine what it's going to be like in the summer😅 this week was oh such a good week❤❤ firstly, Just gotta say I literally have the BEST comp...this is my second ingrown toenail she has dug out... gross huh😬no other words needed, like really she is a champ! Okay now highlights of the week:

-we had exchanges and the sorelle came here! We found 12 new potentials, and talked to so many people:) it was a great time, full of many miracles and MANY laughs! For example....we were up finding in this park area where it's mostly full of super old people, groups of grandpas yelling at each other with their hands flinging every direction. 😂 literally too funny! Me and Sorella Lu Rosso walk over to these 2 gramps sitting on a bench, and the one, (Alberto) starts yelling at us saying god isn't real..,then his friend starts defending us saying you're crazy Alberto! Look around you! God is too real....well turns out his friend was super interested, so while Sorella Lu Rosso was talking to him, I tried to occupy Alberto and I think he asked me 10 times my thoughts on trump, 5 times that he loves blonde girls with blue eyes, (ha I'm thinking comeonnnn Alberto...let's stay focused here!) and how the world is such a bad place....but his heart started to soften when I talked to him about why we are here as missionaries and then asking him questions about what the purpose of life is...made him think a little bit:) I talked with him about the plan of salvation, and made him promise he'd read the pamphlet so hey, it turned into a positive experience for all of us! Also our apartment is TINY so me and Sorella Meager had to share a mattress and somehow fit both of ourselves on a twin...plus both slept a whole 27 minutes...comp unity is on firaaa😄👊🏼 and found a jumping spider which he's lonnngg gone.....can't find the thing anywhere! Another super cool miracle on exchanges...we are walking down the street, I look at Sorella Lu Russo and say, k we are gonna stop this guy and he will give us his number...well guess what...that's exactly what happened😅 pretty cool!

-we are on the bus and I hear this guy speaking some crazy cool language.....he was African so I'm thinking like pigeon language or something, turn to Sorella Meager and ask her...she gives me a blank stare and I just knew...that can't be Italian...well sure enough it was😂 crap, yes 6 months out and still can't differ what is and what isn't Italian.😅😬

-I'm eating a ppj the other day, put "jam" on it, and look up at my comp with a disgusted face... "sorell this is NOT jam...." look at the jar, sure enough I bought pie filling instead, I mean I could read the strawberry (fragola) part😅👊🏼

-this dog ALWAYS jumps out and scares us on the way home from the church....I've walked that path for 5 months now, and he still gets me EVERYTIME!!!! So the other day, me and Sorella Meager snuck up on him and we all scared each other....it was a win win I guess😅

-Sunday, we met this guy on the bus (josh) who actually came up to us in his very thick  Guatemalan accent yelling "hey sisters!!!!" Always catches me off guard when people speak English to us😅 we invited him to English class, and sports night:) then after church our  Italian grandparents canceled, so we call grazia (a less active), go visit her, and then turns out she invites tons of family over, and her cute friend Asunta who asks us if she can learn more about our beliefs...WHOA cool! She invited us to an Easter party Monday:) excited!! We met another lady coming home (van Anh) and are actually teaching her tonight:) miracles guys❤ we found lots of people to teach this week!

-Sorella Meager saved a hurt bird on the way to church, we put him in the grass, so I think it's safe to say she saved his life:)

-we had awesome lessons with sepideh, Silvana, and Lucca this week! Especially with Lucca...the spirit was so strong, and we are starting at the very basics with him because he doesn't believe in God, and let me tell y'all, hearing him pray is the most humbling thing! He has like a legit conversation with God, and it reminds me how God really wants to hear everything we have to say, about our day, our thoughts, our fears, and our dreams....I mean after all he is our older dad, and that's what dads like to do is listen to their kids talk about everything! :)

-WE PLAYED RUGBY for sports night!!!! Awe literally me and Meager DEStROYeD!💪🏼😁haha I kid...it's hard but so fun!!! We played 2 hand touch, and yes so much fun:) then played some basketball, and I gotta work on the vertical😅 but I won horse so (Wes, and gav you'd be proud)😜

-we got to visit adorable sorella Miele again and always so good to be in her house and feel of her sweet spirit❤ we showed her the new Easter video, and awe it's so good❤ guys you gotta go watch it! Christ truly is the prince of peace.....and being a missionary and hearing some of these people's stories and how they came to find that themselves strengthens my testimony everyday. We all have our own challenges, and trials in life, but because we all have our older brother Christ who loves and knows each of us so perfectly through his atonement, we all can find peace through life thank you to our savior. This Easter week, Me and Sorella Meager wanted this to look more for the hands of God in our life everyday and I would like to challenge all of you to do the same. It's Easter week, and a great time to serve and love:) so go and do!!
Love you all and have a great week:)
Love Sorella Rindlisbacher
Quote of the week "great love is built on great sacrifice. Service is rarely needed at a time which is convenient."

Sports night. Played some rugby, volleyball, and basketball!

The 2 men on the right are georgic and ricardo! They are seriously so awesome and funny. Met them at rostra today and invited them for sports night, and they came :) And I had a super good conversation with him. half english half italian. haha he helped me speak a lot though! Anyway he thought it was super cool that we are here not getting paid to share this message of happiness with everyone :) super awesome guys! They are gonna come play sand volleyball with us p-day!
