Broken Blender, Trains, Pasta, and Service

Hello hello everyone😊
Okay so firstly fun fact...meatballs with spaghetti together don't
exist in Italy either!!! Haha SURPRISE! Okay and another fun thing
that happened...well making out morning smoothie the other day....our
blender literally exploded! Ha the bottom just fell apart and smoothie
went everywhere..I died laughing😂 it was such a mess on the walls and
everything, so I bought me a nice little blender to take with me from
here on out. :)
Okay well this week....my goodness where to begin!!! We have been so
so busy, and Then in the next 3 days we have to take a total of 6
trains all over😅. 1.zone conferences 2. Exchanges in Milano 3.
Helping a family in our ward move....so busy is good:) trains just
always stress me out, but it's okay...one day I'll get this public
transport figured out😅👍🏽
-we had a good lesson with cute Barbara and I just can't tell you guys
how much I love this lady!! Barbara is amazing and so strong and
humble....she has a very difficult marriage but continues to move
forward in faith. I bore my testimony to her that I know during our
trials, we don't see the big picture of what we can learn from going
through this, or also what lies ahead, but I know that God knows, and
as we put our trust in him, he will give us the strength we need to
endure. We aren't meant to go through this life alone, and through the
saviors atonement, he will carry us through. As we go through hard
times, we can use that opportunity to come closer to Christ and ask
for his help. She was sobbing and I just gave her the biggest hug. ❤️
Barbara has strengthened my testimony so much to endure with full
faith, never loosing sight of what is most important that is faith in
Christ regardless of her challenges.
After our lesson, we had lunch with her, and she made us the most
GREASY PASTA i've ever had in my life! haha these funny Italians
DESTROY EVERYTHING WITH OIL more than you have ever seen! Haha more
oil on my plate than actual pasta sauce. and it didn't end there...She
made us homemade Almond Milk, and That stuff was LOADED with
sugar...haha Basically I had a stomach ache the rest of the day, but
it's okay....She loves feeding us and it's just a way these cute
people express their love...through lots and lots of food!
-We Met some awesome people on the street this week! and actually 2 of
the guys spoke English so that's always fun cause My vocab is still
very limited! haha but one thing I realized is that many people think
we are Jehovahs Witnesses, so I carry my Libro Di Mormon around, and
then they say, "Awe Mormone" and that's when I turn around and talk to
them:) Lol It usually works!
-Sorella Springer had a doctor appointment for her back, and this bus
literally took us in the middle of NOWHERE on the top of this
mountain...the doctor worked from his house in this tiny
village...seriously the cutest place i've ever seen and so beautiful!
Him and and his wife spoke english, and They were so sweet. :) His
wife is like this 70 year old lady, and she took us to the train
station...and guys I THOUGHT WE WERE GOING to DIE!! She was flying
down this mountain with very narrow streets!! ha These Italian drivers
have no fear, and this little old woman was the perfect example...ha
they are pretty aggressive drivers, so I just close my eyes and pray
the whole time we make it in one  piece!
-We got to go visit this little old man in our ward that had to go to
the hospital this week for some health issues. Fratello Sobrero is a
cute fella<3
-We had 3 lessons yesterday and one with Silvana! She is still reading
the Book Of Mormon and praying:) The lesson went so well, and the
first time I took lead and started the lesson, and asked lots of
questions....Italian still makes no sense to me, and understanding
wise...it's still not really there, but I know God has blessed me with
the gift of tongues when I need it. I'm so grateful for that cause my
brain takes a little longer to learn than others, but God Is a God of
miracles, and the fact I can even somewhat talk in this language is
proof of that! ;)
-And lastly guys....This week on sunday we had our last lesson with
Davide...I say last because we had to drop him. He came to the lesson
with lots of scriptures to start a bible bash, and I was so confused
what was going on because for so long he said he wanted to know if
this was the true church, but then said actually Yes I haven't been
reading the book of mormon as much As i told you guys I was... I was
heart broken cause I just want him to know what I know because It has
changed my life and blessed me so much and I want the same for him.
But as we ended the lesson with him, I just promised Davide One day I
know he will know for himself this is the true church if He reads the
Book Of Mormon with True Intent to know and Prayers with a sincere
heart. I don't know Why I promised that, I just felt like I should,
and I truly believe one day he will accept the gospel.  :)
So guys that's about it for the week! I love being a missionary!!! I
love love these people, and all that I am learning through the hard
times, through the happy times, and through the times where I'm on my
knees pleading for help because I couldn't do this without the help of
our Savior. He gives me strength  everyday to Press forward! Love you
all and hope you have a great week:) I hear there's lots of snow at
home....so drive safe on those roads....Kinda grateful it doesn't snow
here like Utah cause Italian Drivers+Snow....SCARY!
Quote of the week "The things you take for granted someone else is
praying for. IF we don't feel grateful for what we already have, what
makes us think we'd be happier with more?"
my Challenge to you all....Say one grateful prayer everyday, without
asking for anything, but expressing thanks to all the blessings in
your life. :) I'll do it with you guys!
Love Sorella Rindlisbacher

4 hours of sleep last night... so this is what happens. We have a lesson with Davide but I knew I couldnt stay awake unless I took a quick nap while we had some time.

My bishop on the right, and fratello Quaresimo with the glasses on the left (1st counselor)

Luigi's tires haha

She leaves me in less than 2 weeks!

Our new blender after the one broke which was duct taped together haha

Today we made lunch with Barbara. Homemade spinach ravioli it was yum!

Italian fruit is always so big and yum!

This one's for Wes "who am I, who am i" Guess the movie haha

Practicing our song for sacrament next week... it definitely needs work haha!

Another Week in Italia

My dear family and friends❤️
Ciao ciao!!! Awe okay so so many miracles this week I don't even know
where to begin but first and foremost I have to say one
thing....Italian candy, toothpaste, finocchio (weird vegetable
thing)....THEY ALL TASTE LIKE BLACK LICORICE😅 it's so sad, they are
missing out on so many yum things like skittles, and minty
toothpaste....and ya brushing my teeth is always black licorice
aftertaste haha so that's fun but anyways okay so this week. :)
We talked to so many people out on the streets, buses, and
metros....we did some hard finding for 3 straight days, and faced lots
and lots of rejection, but nevertheless we found a handful of people
who gave us their numbers and want to know more. :) we are so excited,
and honestly, there are people everywhere we go, we just have to open
our mouths and find them. Italians are so silly and say 1 of 2 things
which we hear almost all the time...
1. I was born Catholic. And most of the time they never go to church
or read their bible but it's become more of a culture than religion
out here.
Or...
2. I don't believe in God because bad things happen to good people and
if God was real this wouldn't happen.
But we found a good scripture in Alma 60:13 That gives a good
explanation, and then we can hand them the book of Mormon to take and
read:) Anyways, It's helped my testimony grow so much being on my
mission and that I am grateful to know these things are true, that God
is real, and he loves us. Lots of these people here think opposite of
that, and they say life has no  purpose, but I am grateful that I know
that each one of us has a purpose, and that is to grow and learn here
on earth to return to our father in heaven one day, and I get to share
that with everyone. :)
-We had such an awesome lesson with Silvana, and asked her husband to
come talk with us that night...usually he says no, but this time he
said yes! We had a great lesson on the plan of salvation, and the
spirit in the room was so strong and gift of tongues is so real❤️God
helped me say exactly what I needed to say and they understood every
word😅🙏🏼 even in my nast American Accent...lol! but cute Silvana
said they will read IL Libro Di Mormon together and yay miracles❤️
-SORELLA SPRINGER SLPET TALKED IN ITALIAN THE OTHER NIGHT!!! Oh my
heavens it scared me so bad...haha so that was interesting!!
-We also had an awesome lesson with Davide this week, and He Looked at
us right in the eyes and said do you know this is true?? Everything
you are telling me?? I looked at him right in the eyes and said
Davide, sono Positiva:) I Wouldn't be here and leave everything behind
for these 18 months if I didn't know this was true. He said okay, I
want to know that too, so I am going to start reading the Book of
Mormon every night....it was a really cool experience, and we are
excited to see the good things ahead of him!
-We go get bread lots at the bakery for our PBJ'S :D and the cute
fella knows our order now..haha it's the cutest! He gets so excited
every time we come in, and runs to grab our bread and slices it so
perfectly and bags it with just the biggest smile on his face:) ha
what a cute man! I Love these Italians<3 :)
-Last night I ran faster than I ever have to catch a bus in my whole
life.....I turned into a wonder woman!!! Haha And happy to say, we
caught it just in time:)
-We had our first real Tiramisu and homemade too!!! Olga is the best
cook, and soon for pday we are going over to her house to learn how to
make it, and homemade croissants with nutella:)
-Also, never noticed till this week, but Italian drivers are so silly
and Fly over these curbs..haha drivers here scare me!
-We also got to go visit some cute families in the ward this week, and
one of them the sweet mom gave me and Sorella Springer matching
scarfs<3 These members are always so giving and loving....they are the
best!

Okay guys well me and Sorella Springer are heading home, so last thing
I wanna say is this, I love you all so so much and thank you for all
the prayers, and emails<3 Hope you all have a great week!
quote of the week: "You make a living by what you get, you make a life
by what you give." -President Monson
So my challenge to you all this week, is go find someone to serve:) I
promise it will make you happier as you do! Acts 20:35 "It is more
blessed to give than to Recieve"
Vi Voglio Bene<3

Not a good quality pic but some of the members of our ward.

Sky is so pretty tonight! Also today we talked to so many people and family. 3 of them want us to meet with them. I know that doesn't sound like a lot, but that is in italy!

Scavenger hunt for pday today and I had to go dance by random people and clearly they didn't like it too much haha!

When bananas go on sale.. this is what happens haha

Real tiramisu guys and it was buonissimo!

We made pizza for dinner tonight, and it was yummm

The amount of photos and videos she has sent through photo share has become A LOT less if you can't tell. I think that must be a good thing! She is looking so happy in this picture, and as she said is getting the language SO much better. So that makes me so happy and proud. Already 3 1/2 months in!

Frozen toes... thats how it goes!

Sorry my email was crazy there for a minute but here's the actual
one:) Ciao Tutti! Hello and happy Wednesday morning(ish) to most of
you....still weird to think I'm 8 hours ahead here, but anyways this
week has been yet another cold and great week in Italia! I think I'm
use to the numb fingers and frozen toes when we come in at nights.
haha humidity+winter=no bene.😁 but nevertheless let me tell you guys
a few awesome things that happened this week...the second week of the
new year!
First of all random thought....fettuccine Alfredo does not exist in
Italy! Surprise😂😂🤗 I'm still heart broken about it, but it's okay I
guess....they still have pretty good pasta😉
Okay so this week we had some appointments with some members and less
actives, and I love love spending every minute with these sweet
people❤️ one family in particular (the Sassi's) I was very touched
when we went to their home. They were baptized about a year ago, but
finding work is extremely hard here in Italy, and because it's so
limited their job they have makes them work every Sunday, so they are
usually unable to come to church, but guys this cute family is so
extremely humble and loving. They have the strongest testimonies, and
despite the fact that they are barley making ends meet to put food on
the table for their family, they always try to feed us missionaries
when they can. The cute mom cooked us pancakes and "American" type
things cause she said she wants us to feel right at home.❤️ what a
sweet family and their son Francesco taught me lots of Italian so
that's always fun🤗 I love how 5 year olds teach me their
language....haha it's so funny cause I speak at the level of like a 3
year old, but guys guess what!! This week I'm understanding lots more,
and speaking lots more, and so extremely grateful that the lord helps
us missionaries learn the languages faster than I ever thought
possible. I still have a long ways to go, but finally this week the
verb conjugations clicked and I can understand them better now when I
hear them🤗 yay it's such a blessing❤️❤️
Okay so a few other things....
-we met a cute girl on the train (Catarina) and she said she wants to
meet with us once she gets her work schedule figured out!! Yay:)
-We had another lesson with Davidae and he is doing awesome! This week
we fasted with him (Sunday) and all knelt down together and prayed to
start it, and it was such a special spirit that I felt as Davidae
offered a very simple but heartfelt prayer to know if this church is
true. We are meeting with him this weekend so I will keep you guys
posted! Funny story though...Davidae is literally a champ....get this,
we gave him a chapter to read in il Libro di Mormon and it talks a lot
about humility and Davidae said when he read it, he had the impression
that he needs to be more humble so one day he wants to move to south
Italy and live on the streets and preach about God to everyone to show
more humility...he definitely took those scriptures to heart😅 but hey
we talked about missionaries...that's exactly what we do except we
don't have to live on the streets to be humble, it's our attitude and
intent of our hearts, so we cleared that up with him.
-we went to olgas again and got to cook some yum Italian food with
her! She is one good chef, and for pday soon we are gonna go over and
learn how to make deserts...like real Italian dolci!!! I'm so
excited🤗
-we Have this family that lives the floor under us, so we took them
some chocolate salami last night and gave them the plan of salvation
pamphlet and shared with them that we believe families can be together
forever. They said they will read it and hopefully we can go back next
week to visit them:) but oh my...me and Sorella Springer are SO done
with chocolate salami😅 anytime we bring it to people, they insist we
eat it with them...haha so it use to be yum, and now we can't stand
it😂
-I got my permesso Monday which means....I'm on my way to having
actual permission to live here😅 that day was such a rush and I biffed
it running up the stairs trying to catch our tram😂 definitely not the
first time that's happened....haha and my hand was frozen when they
tried to do the finger print stuff so the guy had me thaw it out in
warm water..😅👍🏽
-January is almost halfway over!!! I hope you are all staying up on your goals:)
-last night we had dinner with cute Sorella Miele, and she asked us to
teach her friend Carla the plan of salvation. It went really well, and
Carla wants to meet with us again next week:) members are awesome
inviting their friends to listen to the gospel message, and goes to
show, you don't need a name tag to be a missionary, there's
opportunities for each of us everyday to share our testimonies:)
Well guys that's it for the week, and lastly, thank you thank you for
all the emails❤️ sorry if I don't get back to you right away, we only
have so much time to email, but I promise I'll email you all back
eventually so thank you for them! I love hearing about all the things
happening in each of your lives. :)
Well I hope you all have a great week! Keep smiling, keep working hard
in school, work...whatever it may be, and friends on missions...keep
up the great work👍🏽 we will get through this winter together😅👊🏼
Love Sorella Rindlisbacher

with the wind."

We love our bread from from the bakery with peanut butter and jelly :) these things are the bomb!!

Love these youth! They are the cutest!

I can't believe I actually held them... I wanted to cry, I really did.... especially in this pic cause the orange one was going up my scarf!!!!
