Hello tutti❤️
Firstly I just have to say how much I love my family and how grateful
I am we got to Skype. I wish I could be there to give you a big hug
for Mother's Day mom, but I know dad already took care of that for me.
😊❤️ comunque wow y'all busy week and just when I thought April went
fast, may is 1/2 way over...whaaatttt😱😱
So I have to start with a funny story....
We were teaching Sofia, and her hubby walks in...he had a long day at
work. We invite him to come sit and talk with us and this was his
response in his very thick African accent...."sistas, I would but take
one look at me....I am DIRTY and you know the rule, cleanliness is
next to godliness so I'm gonna go take my bath." 😂 I died laughing, I
mean ya can't argue with that.😂 the lesson with Sofia went so good
and she is going to start reading il libro di mormon:) this woman is
such an example to me...She hasn't had an easy life, but says god has
given her everything, and she can't thank him enough...like wow what a
woman of strong faith! I love her!!!❤️❤️
We had lots of member appointments this week, less active passbys, and
I love these sweet people❤️ also most dinners we eat only 3 courses
instead of 7🙏🏼 meno male! Lol my first city you could always count
on thanksgiving dinner for any meal appointment...lol these people are
so giving and kind.❤️ members are working with us and giving us
referrals. Missionary work is for EVERYONE! this Saturday we are
having a dinner with one of the families in our ward with their
neighbors and having a lesson together, so listen up y'all, you don't
need a tag to be a missionary:) god needs you too today to help his
work move forward!
We had a fun relief society activity with yummy food, laughs, and a
good dose of the spirit:) plus a woman told me I look like her sons
xwife....awkward!! Lol after it's over we leave and clouds are looking
pretty dark, but miracles guys!!!! The minute we get in our apartment
it starts POURING outside.....god is so good! 🤗
I think now I have approximately 2567 bug bites😅 mosquito season has
arrived!! Also, so has firefly season😍 they are everywhere, and oh so
cool!
We visited sweet sorella sarti this week for Mother's Day and brought
her a note, cookie, and some flowers. She was so happy and said I have
a little earth on the inside now❤️ so cute!! But oh my lanta story
time...my water bottle lid flew off in my bike basket on the way over,
so I put my water bottle on the side of my backpack to save some of
it, and lean over her bed to hug her completely forgetting the fact my
bottle has no lid and BAM!! Water spills EVERYWHERE on me and on her!
We are both yelling and then laughing and then apologizing...I felt so
bad. We got her out of her bed and changed pillow cases😅
We had a lesson with eni and ersi, and these 2 girls are really
struggling in what they believe right now. I think Satan is really
good at giving us doubts and concern when we are doing something good
in our life, or especially for investigators ready to get baptized.
The adversary is real!! Ersi said she doesn't want to be baptized
anymore, and they just want to live life without commandments and
freely. We talked about their purpose, and what their life means to
them, what gives them purpose....they had a hard time answering these
questions, and we were able to share with them our testimonies of the
gospel, of Jesus Christ and how it gives me purpose in my life to know
there is something greater than just living...we have a divine
purpose, and infinite potential.❤️ we will keep praying for them and
hope they can find that same happiness that the gospel offers to each
of us if our hearts are open to it.
There is this super big hill we go down every time to the church, and
the other day I got flying down it super fast with my iPad in the
basket (such a dumb idea I know)...hit the speed bump...there goes my
iPad flying over my head!! I slam on the breaks, turn around, and here
comes this car cruising down the hill.....I don't really know what
happened other than I have never ran faster in my life😅 my iPad is
safe, and so am I.🙏🏼
And last thing I would like to share with you all this week was
yesterday at district meeting. We watched the atonement video of
Christ, and wow it was so powerful. Tears started running down my face
as I heard these words from Elder Hollands mouth, "The Atonement will
carry the missionaries perhaps even more importantly than it will
carry the investigators. When you struggle, when you are rejected,
when you are spit upon and cast out and made a hiss and a byword, you
are standing with the best life this world has ever known, the only
pure and perfect life ever lived. You have reason to stand tall and be
grateful that the Living Son of the Living God knows all about your
sorrows and afflictions. The only way to salvation is through
Gethsemane and on to Calvary. The only way to eternity is through
Him—the Way, the Truth, and the Life."
I'd like to add my testimony to Elder holland's that I know my savior
lives. These past 8 months of my mission I have truly come to know
that my savior knows me personally, and loves each one of us so
individually and perfectly. I have had some days where going on seemed
impossible, but then I look at the perfect example of our savior who
loved and served to the very day of his death....that gives us every
reason to push through the hard days, and the trials of life. We have
the perfect example to turn to who is our savior, our older brother,
our redeemer. He already walked the path before us, so we just have
to continue in faith pressing forward.
I love you all and hope this week you will look for the hand of God in
your life! It will help you through the hard days, as you look back,
you will see he was there every step of the way.
Quote of the week, "fight all your battles on your knees, and you will
win every time."

So this story.... the guy that yelled to Nicole and her companion while riding their bikes and said, "Hey sisters!" Anyway, long story short..... This guy (chad) was in Italy and his son was with him whose name is Tyson and who is friends with Brady because they served their mission together. How crazy is that? haha. Well he has a youtube channel and shared a really awesome story! Also I love how he gives Nick a shout out hahah!
The Elder Young is someone my mother-in-law knows. Their family is in her stake!
